You get to choose your sponsor.
Almost nobody realises that. The application asks who referred you, most agents put down whoever happened to message them first, and that answer is permanent. It costs you nothing either way — which is exactly why it's worth thirty seconds of thought.
Is Epique right for me?
Splits, caps, healthcare, technology, revenue share, stock. This is the brokerage's case to make and they make it well. I'm not going to retype their website at you — and if I'm honest, I couldn't out-produce it.
Who do I name as sponsor?
This one is permanent, invisible in the marketing, and makes the difference between an agent who thrives at a cloud brokerage and one who quietly pays every month for a login they never open. It's the only decision this website can honestly help you with.
Everything below is what I commit to.
What you get from me specifically
Not values, not a vibe. Things you could hold me to, and that you should ask any other sponsor to match before you decide.
Where the team’s $10,000 cap comes from
If you've been in this business a while, a sponsor claiming they can lower the brokerage's cap should set off an alarm. Good. Here's the actual mechanism.
First, the part that matters most: the team is Florida only,
and joining it is never a condition of naming me as your sponsor. If you are anywhere else,
none of this section applies to you and nothing you are offered changes.
For Florida agents: Epique publishes several team structures, each with its own economics. The
Taylor Kane Group operates as a traditional team —
a structure Epique offers with a $10,000 commission cap and a $99 monthly fee, against the standard
$15,000 declining cap and $149 monthly. It isn't a discount I'm authorized to invent and it isn't a
promotion that expires. It's a documented structure you join by joining the team — and it
comes with the 5% below.
Now the part you should have asked about, so I'll raise it myself: the team is not free. TKG takes 5% of your gross commission on every transaction, from your first deal, for as long as you're on the team. Not after you cap — from the start, and it doesn't reset or expire. On a $650,000 sale at 2.5% that's about $813 off a $16,250 commission, every time.
So here is the honest arithmetic. The team saves you $5,000 on the cap, and up to $600 a year in monthly fees — nothing at all on fees if you would have paid Epique annually at $99. Against that, 5% of a full year's production is almost always the larger number. For most producing agents the team costs more than it saves on cash alone, and I would rather write that here than have you work it out later. What the 5% buys is the name, the branding, the coaching and someone in your corner — and whether that's worth it is a judgement about your business, not a calculation. You never have to join the team to name me as your sponsor.
I would rather put that on my own website than have you work it out afterwards. The calculator models both paths side by side and will tell you plainly which one wins on your numbers — including when the answer is "go solo." If it says solo, name me as your sponsor anyway: you still get the onboarding, the tech setup and the contract review, and it costs you nothing.
Verify all of this. Ask Epique directly, or ask me to pull the current team documents up on screen during our call. A sponsor who gets defensive when you check their claims has told you something important.
When I'm not the right sponsor
Recruiting pages never include this section. They should.
You want an office to walk into
Epique is cloud-based. There's no branch with a receptionist, no floor time, no desk with your name on it. Some agents genuinely work better with somewhere to go in the morning, and if that's you, no compensation plan fixes it.
You want a hands-off sponsor
Some agents want a name on a form and nothing else, and that's a completely legitimate preference. If that's you, pick whoever you like — you won't be getting value from what I do, and I'd rather you know that now.
You're mid-way through a strong cap year
If you've already paid most of a cap where you are, moving now can mean paying twice in one calendar year. Sometimes the right answer is to finish the year and revisit in January. I'll run that math with you honestly.
Not in Florida? It still works.
Epique is licensed across a lot of the country, and I sponsor agents anywhere they operate. You do not need to be anywhere near Boca Raton.
Almost everything I've committed to above travels perfectly well: the written 30-day plan, help setting up your CRM and campaigns, the weekly call, my cell number, coaching on attraction if you want it, and a straight answer about whether the move makes sense for you. None of that is geographic.
The honest exception is hyper-local contract knowledge. I can read a contract with you anywhere and spot the things that are universal — financing contingencies, inspection negotiation, title issues, how a deal is going sideways. What I can't do from here is tell you which condo association in Phoenix is having a reserve problem. If that specific kind of local knowledge is what you're missing most, say so on the call and I'll be straight with you about it.
For a lot of out-of-state agents that trade is easy, because what they actually need is someone who answers the phone and sets the technology up properly — and that has nothing to do with which state you're licensed in.
